We tore through 250 pounds of crawfish and Wyatt was happy to help daddy clean it all up the next morning.

Crawfish and Teacher Love
We finished the month of May up showing love to two of our favorite things…Crawfish and Rhett’s teacher. For teacher appreciation week Rhett and I made the CUTEST cupcakes EVER. They were probably the easiest we’ve ever made as well. Best yet, they were a huge hit with all the teachers at his school.
You can get the recipe HERE but seriously they were so easy! I didn’t make the icing I just bought the tub of Duff brand buttercream icing from Michaels. If you don’t already follow Amy’s blog you really should. Her ideas will transform you into supermom. (which is what we are all longing for right?!?! haha)
Rhett’s teacher this year was really an answered prayer for me. She is one of those teachers who really understands boys and knows that they really are different. She was so perfect for Rhett and we all just LOVED her. The end of year festivities began with field day. I worked the snow cone booth but was able to run over and and snap a quick picture of R and his teacher.
The 31st of May brought Rhett’s end of year party and awards ceremony. Our little genius was awarded the knowledgeable award. His teacher said that he has more facts in his head than anyone she’s seen and if anyone in the class needs to know something they always ask Rhett. The class also voted on some awards and they voted Rhett the best Math student. (Jason and I have NO idea where he gets his mad math skills from however, we think we know where he gets his crazy posing skills from haha!) Doesn’t he look so knowledgeable!
To celebrate Memorial Day weekend we had our Second Annual Crawfish Boil. Uncle Johnny came back for another year and if it’s possible he completely outdid himself.
We blocked the cul-de-sac off again this year and just let the kids crazily run from bounce house to bounce house.

Miss K showed up proclaiming her love of all things Newman. My parents were also able to party with us because they were cruising out of Galveston the next day.

To celebrate Memorial Day and daddy actually being off on a Monday, the boys headed out to our favorite state park. You guessed it the one with the alligators. They all had some major sweaty boy fun fishing off the pier.
Once they were home they kept telling me how cool it was to toss their fish down to the alligators below. I think daddy may have missed the signs posted all over the park reading, “DO NOT FEED THE GATORS”! So he lost daddy of the year points when he showed me this picture of a hungry gator right under my sweet little boys.
Don’t worry he totally redeemed himself when he brought both boys home alive and well with this picture on his camera.
There you have it the end of May! Come back soon for June it was probably one of our best months EVER!
