After lunch Rhett was excited to get to open more gifts. He loved all of his new stuff, even the vaccum cleaner he got from Jeff and Julie. Last year Jeff gave Shawn the pink gloves as part of his gift and so this year Shawn gave them back to Jeff. I wonder who will end up with them next year??
The kids and some of the grown ups had a great time playing with all of their new Christmas toys. I sure hope Jodie and Kenzie can get a good dentist to help them out a little...haha
After a long day of eating, opening gifts and more eating we posed for a brother and sisters picture and one of grandma with her grandkids and great grandkids.
These are pictures of our Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and other relatives that meet every Christmas Eve for dinner and a gift exchange. Jodie and I thought it would be so cute to put the boys in matching sweaters but they weren't interested in taking a picture at all. They only wanted to play with the car that Rhett got from his Great Aunt Mary.
Rhett and Kenzie were sitting on the table telling us what they wanted Santa to bring them for Christmas and it turns out all Rhett wanted was Santa's cookies. It was so funny he just reached right in and grabbed one up and started munching on Santa's treats. He couldn't figure out why we were all laughing at him and when he was done he put the half eaten cookie right back for Santa. He sure loves GOOKIES....at least that's what he calls them.
We had a wonderful Christmas with Jason's family and Rhett loved playing with his cousins. Poor little guy was so confused when it was time to open presents because he got spanked the day before for opening a gift so when we gave him presents to actually open he was very timid about it. When he opened one he wanted to play with his new toy and not open any more presents. I think he was just getting a little overwhelmed with all of his new stuff.
We hosted our playgroup Christmas party. We had a lot of fun and Rhett was so happy to be able to finally open a present. After the party we loaded up to drive to Aunt LaLa and Uncle Brian's house to have Christmas with Jason's family. Rhett was a great traveler because he was so tired from the party.
My little sister Julie came to visit Rhett and I during her Christmas break from teaching. It was great timing because Jason was out of town all week for work and so we just had a great time hanging out. Rhett especially loved being spoiled by his aunt Jules...she bought him the cute Elmo slippers and he loves wearing them all over the house.
This is what Rhett's hair looks like every morning when he wakes up. We are usually running late on school days and so he goes to school with it like this as well. You would think his mommy would try to comb that wild hair....haha!
Rhett went to a birthday party across the street and got to go on a train ride all around the neighborhood. Our neighbor Nick rode with him so that mommy and daddy could leave for one of Jason's work parties. Don't worry our babysitter was there at the party waiting to watch Rhett until we got home.
