pics from Christmas morning

I don't have many pictures from Christmas morning but as soon as I get the ones from Laura's camera I'll try to share them as well. Everyone enjoyed playing hours of rock band and I bet you've never seen such a super cool rock star on lead vocals...haha! Oh and I guess Jason, Rhett and I weren't as good as we thought because Santa (Brian) left us a set of Obama placemats in our stockings. I can't wait to entertain all of my friends with our new placemats...haha!

Here are a few videos from Christmas morning. Sorry the first one is so dark at the beginning but I think you can still hear the excitement as the kids came down the stairs. I loved how Rhett asked daddy if all of this was for him. Enjoy!

Rhett was a wiseman in the childrens Christmas Eve service. Right before he was supposed to go on stage I looked over and he was sound asleep. I had to take him into the hall and splash water on his face and wake him up. He did a great job and managed not to fall asleep on stage.

After the Christmas Eve service we came home and opened presents from each other and then got ready for Santa to come see us in the morning.

merry anniversmas number 9

Today Jason and I celebrated nine wonderful years together. Laura and Brian were already in town to spend Christmas with us and so they joined us for an amazing steak dinner. It is so hard to believe that next year we will be hitting the big number ten but I look forward to every single day I get to spend with Jason. I'm still in awe of how perfectly God matched us when allowed our paths to cross. I am truly blessed with an amazing husband!

Rhett and I had so much fun making this gingerbread train together and after all we ate we still managed to have enough candy to actually put on the train.

class party

I thought you'd would enjoy reading the shirt Rhett got to wear to his class party.

school Christmas program

Rhett has been telling me that he was going to sing all of the songs in his Christmas program backwards and I really wasn't sure what he meant until his teacher informed me that during practice he actually turns his back to the audience and sings "backwards". So after much bribery and the offer of getting into the treasure box after the program we actually got to see his face during the whole show. We were so proud that we survived the entire program without any incidences from our little class clown. (Well as long as we don't count the major nose picking in front of the entire audience..haha)

When we woke up this morning and checked the weather report it said there was a chance of snow in Houston and Rhett was so excited. All the way to school I talked to him about how it probably wouldn't really snow and if it did it might melt as fast as it comes, but Rhett was convinced it was going to snow. All day long there were reports of snow around Houston and when I picked up Rhett from school he was still waiting for the snow. Once we were home we kept watching out the window because the weather map showed that it was about to pass over us. As soon as we saw the first snowflake he quickly put on his shoes without socks and bolted out the door. I told him he needed to put socks on and on his way out he said, "Momma there's no time for socks." As soon as he got outside he started yelling, "It's Christmas Everyone!" He was very quickly joined by all of the kids on our block who were all running around in a frenzy trying to soak up every ounce of joy that comes with snow. It was one of the most fun and magical moments I've ever witnessed. I hope after you watch the videos you are reminded to slow down and enjoy the magic of this season just as I was.

As Rhett was running around in a tizzy he kept saying the funniest things like "You've got to be kidding me, It's snowing in Houston Texas!" Then he would yell out to everyone, "It's Christmas!"

how many quarters tough are you?

While we were at the church festival this weekend, Rhett said another funny that just cracked us up. We were sitting across from this little boy and they were talking to each other about how tough they were and the little boy told Rhett, "I'm tough because I'm 5 and 3/4." To which Rhett replied, "Well I'm tougher because I have a ton of quarters in my bank at home!" We all just started laughing.

church christmas spectacular

This weekend our church put on a Christmas festival. It was an elaborate production complete with fireworks, snow, a musical production, acrobats and was all wrapped up with the wonderful story of Jesus' birth. We had so much fun watching Rhett enjoy every second of it. Daddy and Rhett really enjoyed throwing snowballs at each other and of course we all especially enjoyed our turkey leg and funnel cake...yummy!!

I really wanted to have family pictures done of our little family before we became a foursome. Our photographer did a wonderful job and here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!
