February Finale

So here is our February wrap up. We all recovered from our Valentines sugar high just in time to celebrate daddy’s birthday on the 23rd. I always let the boys pick out Jason’s party theme and the 2011 theme of the year was camo. Which went well with all of Jason’s camping themed gifts.IMG_7307 IMG_7311 IMG_7312 IMG_7326February was also the start of some pretty major home updates. We changed all of the flooring in our house and gutted our master bathroom. While all of the work was going on downstairs we had to move upstairs. We literally ate all of our meals picnic style on the playroom floor. And since we were getting new carpet anyway the boys enjoyed getting to use the old carpet in place of napkins. It was crazy messy until we finally got the new flooring upstairs. Now I’ve just got to break their hand-wiping on the floor habits. Here are some of the during the work pictures.IMG_7276W enjoying a nice healthy sonic breakfast, we had to eat take out for a couple of weeks since the kitchen was out of commission. IMG_7273Yes that is my pantry door just chilling in the living room.IMG_7264IMG_7303I’ll post some after pictures as soon as I clean my house…don’t hold your breath!
Oh and we caught a frog.  IMG_7298 IMG_7301It was a good month!

February is for Lovers and Procrastinators

One of our February highlights was celebrating Valentines day in style and with pickles. The boys bought me the absolute Best. Gift. Ever….I’m now an official card carrying “Pickle of the Month Club” member. It is AWESOME! Each month a shiny new jar of specialty pickles arrives at my door step. A true pickle lovers dream come true! Which would all be great if I liked pickles…haha! Totally joking those of you who know me know that I kind of have a thing for them. Not only did we celebrate with pickles R and I also made gourmet, chocolate and candy bar coated caramel apples for the boy’s teachers. What a cheap, easy and delicious gift to make. We melted the caramels.IMG_7195We punched the heck out of crushed up Butterfinger and Heath bars.IMG_7190 Then dipped the Granny Smith apples in caramel and rolled them in candy bar crumbs and finally drizzled them with chocolate. I may or may not have gone off diet while making these little babies.IMG_7213 These really made such pretty teacher gifts. I wrapped them in plastic bags, tied them with festive ribbon and attached their Valentine cards to them. Rhett loved getting to tell his principals that he made them just for them. IMG_7219 IMG_7217Here is a closer picture of the Valentine Cards I made for them to exchange with their friends. Rhett wanted Star Wars cards. I found these on Living Locurto and personalized them with Rhett's famous head on a lego trademark. He loves it when I make him a Lego...ha!Rhett2011valentinecardsblogWyatt wanted whatever his mommy could throw together the day before the party…ha!Wyattvalentine2011blogR and I also made iphones for all of his friends to enjoy. I saw this on my blogging friend Kelly’s blog, which are also from Living Locurto, and LOVED it so we scrambled around last minute to find the Brach’s candy and their cuteness was so worth the four different grocery stores with three kids in tow…haha!

With all of our treats complete we were all ready for the big school party.IMG_7249
As I’ve said before we LOVE Rhett’s teacher!IMG_7254 IMG_7232 After partying all day we decided to make daddy breakfast for dinner complete with heart shaped sausage patties.IMG_7257blur IMG_7262So I guess you could say that our theme this year was hearts, pickles and chocolate….mmmmm wonder what chocolate pickles would taste like…I digress. See you soon for more February Fun.
