Port O’Circus!
July 9th was an outstanding family day! There is nothing like experiencing the magic of the circus through the eyes of your children. I was teary-eyed with pure joy during the grand entry parade. We arrived early enough to visit the animals and purchase all of our circus junk souvenirs.
This was W’s first circus and he LOVED it!
W soaked up every second of fun until he finally passed completely out. That’s a successful day at the circus for a 2 year old!
We put our clowning around days behind us and finished July off with our yearly fishing trip to Port O’Connor with the C’s. This time we brought along our cousin K to help Mrs. C and me wrangle all six of our kids. What a helper she was!

Mrs. C and I were able to mark some of our “back to school” shopping off our list without ever getting out of our p.j.’s.
R woke up early and went out fishing with the men. After a power nap on the boat he woke up again and caught a trout all by himself. He’s always been our little fisherman.
What a great July we had! The three little boys and I did make a trip back home for our cousins birthday parties but for some reason I didn’t take any pictures…shocking I know! Maybe if my sister sends me some she took I’ll go back and fill you in on our undocumented trip. But for now July is OVER!

In a Galaxy Far Far Away Rhett Played Golf!
Our Health Museum was hosting a Star Wars exhibit with actual props from the movies. So of course I had to take our young Jedi to explore the science behind the special effects. I was really pleasantly surprised at how NOT-lame it was…haha! We got to see so much really cool stuff!
Rhett was amazed that they used smaller models for most of the scenes. He really liked looking at his beloved Millennium Falcon.
He was a little upset that during Luke Skywalkers flying scenes they used dolls. That totally blew his mind!
He was happy to see that they also used a Landspeeder that would hold actual humans and NOT dolls.
Wyatt was a little freaked out to see Jawa’s his size packing heat. HA!
We also got to test our magnetic knowledge by building hovercrafts.
R also really enjoyed building and programming R2D2s.
We did tour the Health part of the museum while we were there. We’ve never been to this particular museum before but we will definitely be going back.
Our healthy Jedi also went to two weeks of golf camp again this summer. He really enjoys playing golf so much! Just look at that swing!
I think he’s also quite fond of the the end of camp pizza party!
One more beach trip, the circus and July will be done, you won’t want to miss it!

Wet and Wild Fourth of July
Have I ever told you how great our neighborhood is? Well just in case I haven’t I’ll tell you again…Our neighborhood is the BEST! We always have so much fun together and this Fourth of July was pure neighborhood fun! We once again blocked off our cul-de-sac and had an all out kids vs parents water balloon fight. The mighty kids team was raring to go.

I think L-man was just a little sad that he couldn’t get in on the action. The kids all had so much fun and there really was something very therapeutic about pelting your children with water balloons. I highly recommend it! When we were finally out of balloons we grilled out burgers and talked about the good ole days (last year) when we used to be able to set off fireworks. Lord willing we will get downpours of rain before next year and won’t have burn ban restrictions getting in the way of our Fourth fun.
To top off our Fourth fun the boys also bought me the ice cream maker I’ve been wanting.
I bet you didn’t know that making ice cream in a boy house requires a hammer! I mean come on why crush up the chocolate pieces with your hands when you can use a hammer…haha!
However you crush your chocolate the end result is still YUM-O!
And that my friends is how the Fourth goes down in the hood! Super fun with ice cream on top! The End! (and here’s a few more !!!!!! in case there weren’t enough in the post for you…haha!!!!!)
