rhett a year ago

When he is telling you something he usually ends it with "on me." Here are some of his best "on me" sayings:
- "Mom, don't hurt on me."
- "Mom, don't spank on me."
- "Don't kiss on me."
- "Don't hug on me."
Right now he is totally into trains and any kind of bat or ball he can get his hands on. When he sees a bat or a ball, he automatically calls it an Astro's bat or Astro's ball. He also likes to pretend to eat ladybugs and bumble bees and then spit them out all over the place. He loves to dance and while we are driving he wants everyone in the car to dance along as well. If daddy and I aren't dancing to his satisfaction he says, "Get it momma, Get it daddy." Another Rhett saying is "You heard that?" He always wants to make sure that we are hearing and seeing everything that he is. He also likes to tell me "Mom I can't found it," when he is looking for a specific toy. I just love the way that he puts together all of his little sentences and witnessing the way his brain is working is just amazing!
Rhett is pure joy with such a wonderful sense of humor, and I'm so in love with his little personality that I look forward to each day I get to spend with him just to hear what he's going to come up with next.

breakfast with santa

Today we went to a breakfast with Santa in our neighborhood park. We started the morning off by buying toys for Rhett to donate to the toy drive and then headed over to the park to see Santa. Rhett and I got to ride the train and Rhett loved jumping in the bouncy house. He also got to sit on a police motorcycle, which I'm happy to report he didn't like all that well. We had a lot of fun helping out less fortunate children.11.25.2006

The morning after Thanksgiving we headed over to Jason's family's house for some more holiday fun. We made our yearly trip to see Santa and I was so happy that Rhett was not afraid at all. He ran right up to him and gave him a hug and when it was time to leave he said "bye Santa, I love you!" It was too cute!

Thanksgiving
We spent Thanksgiving day out West at my sister's house. We had a great time and Rhett always loves getting to run around so freely. As you can see Rhett really enjoyed his pink cupcake after lunch...thanks to Grandpa, who I think should be banned from the kiddie table. HaHa!

halloween night
I think this was the most fun Halloween I've had my entire life. I LOVED getting to see my little Lance Berkman trick or treat and get soooo excited at each new house. Before we left to go trick or treating Rhett was finishing a banana and I thought he finished it but apparently he put it in his trick or treat bag and headed out the door. We found it after he went to his first door. He wasn't only interested in the candy he also stopped and picked up rocks to put in his bag. I was cracking up at the end of the night when he dumped out his loot because he had a mixture of candy, mushy banana, rocks and half eaten suckers. He was very proud of his little collection. After we went trick or treating we got together at one of our neighbor's houses for a potluck dinner. We have such great neighborhood friends and we just love all of their children like they were our own. The kids were all too cute posing on the couch.

brooke's birthday
Today was Rhett's girlfriend, Brooke's, birthday party. We had so much fun playing games and watching Rhett play with all the other kids. I think Rhett's favorite part was when everyone left the table and he had free reign on their un-eaten cookies...I just don't understand why my kid is so big??? HAHA

Today we had our neighborhood Halloween block party. The video is of the costume parade, which is where the kids run around the cul-de-sac a few times. They all loved it and we had a blast visiting with our friends.

aunt connie
Our Aunt Connie was in town for a conference and so Rhett and I went to meet her at her hotel. She bought Rhett this super-cool truck and they had a lot of fun taking it apart and putting it back together. Rhett loves working on the truck, he spends lots of time just taking it apart and putting it back together over and over. Thanks for the great toy Aunt Connie!

road trip
We seem to have made it back home in one piece except for the fact that Rhett is going through grandparent detox. He is completely spoiled rotten!!! I'm starting him on discipline "boot camp" ASAP. It's really not that bad but we can definitely tell a difference in his behavior since he went without his schedule and routine for so long. Jason keeps telling me that I didn't bring back the same kid that I left home with, but I guess it will just take us a little time to whip him back into shape.

cousins
I'm sure you can barely tell these kids are all related....I wonder if intense TV watching is an inherited trait...HAHA!
After church today Rhett and I were back on the road to see more family. We stayed the night with our cousins and they really didn't just watch TV the whole time.
