Today I kept Rhett home from school because he has a cold and so he and I had a picnic on the deck and played outside all day. It was fun and I had the most handsome lunch date ever!

bye bye nakes
Today Rhett and daddy were working in the flower beds when they found some giant earth worms. Rhett thought they were snakes so he called them Nakes. (His cousins have a corn snake and I guess he remembered seeing their snake.) So daddy and Rhett would dig up the worms and then put them back in the soil and as the worms would dig back into their homes Rhett would wave at them and say, "Bye Bye Nake." It was so cute! Sorry there are no pictures I used the video camera for that moment.

photo shoot
There is a company in Houston that makes baby college videos and Rhett was asked to be one of the babies in an upcoming video. The videos are just like the Baby Einstein videos except they feature a University. The day we were scheduled they were shooting the Virginia Tech video. All he had to do was play with all of the stuff they gave him. He did such a great job and we all know how much he loves hamming it up for a crowd so you can only imagine how cute he was for the camera. He especially loved playing with all of the balls. He just ran around squealing with pure joy! The video should be available in April and if you want to check out any of the other videos you can go to www.teambabyentertainment.com .

daddy in charge
This weekend daddy kept Rhett all by himself for the first time. I went to a scrapbooking retreat with my sister-in-law and left the boys to fend for themselves. They had a wonderful time and Jason really enjoyed getting to spend time with Rhett. They went to the Children's Museum, played outside, went to Home Depot and ate out at Rhett's favorite Mexican food Restaurant. He has become quite the little dipper. He loves the salsa, even the spicy stuff. I'm really glad that my boys had such a great time together and that everything went so well for them. I wish I had some pictures of their weekend to share but I guess I shouldn't expect daddy to take pictures and take care of Rhett all at the same time.....haha!

sick baby
Rhett came home from MDO with an evil tummy bug. It lasted for an entire week. He was so pitiful but we sure didn't mind all of the out of the ordinary cuddling that we got from our sweet little boy! He had to miss a whole week of school and daddy had to miss a day of work when mommy woke up with the bug Tuesday morning. We are so happy that we made it through his sickness and hopefully we won't have to do it again for a long time.

potty news
It seems like overnight Rhett has decided to become a big boy. His vocabulary is really multiplying and our biggest news yet is that he has decided that he wants to start using the big potty. He was trying to take his diaper off and I told him that he could not take his diaper off unless he was going to go peepee in the potty and so he marched into the bathroom and took his diaper off. I put him on the potty and he went peepee for the first time in the potty. We are so excited!!! I went ahead and put him in training pants and of course he has had some accidents but Sunday he made it to the potty six times and his training pants were dry from after naptime all the way until bed time. I know he's probably too young to actually be ready to potty train but as long as he wants to sit on the potty I'm just going to keep going with it. I'm just amazed that he even wanted to sit on the potty, but he seems to go every time I put him up there and he will even go in there on his own and tell me potty. Keep your fingers crossed that he actually wants to be done with diapers because I know that I'm ready. Even if this is just a phase, all the practice he's getting on the potty can't be a bad thing.

piano man

Since we've been home from all of our holiday travels Rhett has just been playing with all of his cool new toys. He has been entertaining us with some really great concerts on his piano. He loves to hear his voice on the microphone and it gives him lots of practice using all of the new words he's been working on.
