Rhett did really well in tonight's soccer game. Sometimes he's not that interested but tonight he hustled and made several good kicks. He even blocked a shot out of the goal, which earned him a high five from one of his teammates.

trip to the market
We love going to this Farmer's Market to get all of our fresh produce. Most everything is grown right on their farm so we were especially happy to have a place who was still selling tomatoes and jalapenos. Rhett really likes to go because he and Jason always get a homemade fried pie to split on the way home.

fishing
The morning of Kolsen's birthday, Grandpa and NeNe came over and took the kids out for a fun day of fishing, swimming and picnicking out at the lake. Jodie and I were able to get all of the final touches done for the party that evening. I think this was a different fishing trip for Grandpa and NeNe because on this one the only thing they caught was Kenzie's shoe that accidentally went overboard. I'm still not sure who had more fun the kids or Grandpa and NeNe.
party time
Kolsen had a great third birthday and Jodie made such a yummy and cool Cars cake for him. After everyone sang Happy Birthday to him he immediately said, "Do it Again!" It was too funny you can tell by the look on his face after he blew out his candles how much he loved everyone singing to him.

pirate cousins
Rhett and I headed out West to visit cousins. It didn't take long for Rhett to turn all of his cousins into pirates like him. We spent the week with family and finished the weekend off with a fun river trip. I didn't take a single picture on the river so you'll just have to imagine how much fun we had floating and relaxing.

garage sale
This morning we braved the heat and the mosquitos to have a garage sale. Rhett woke up early eager to help out with what he called our yard sale. He decided that everything we sold had gotten "old" and that's how he could cope with letting go of them. We had a great turnout and what I would call a successful sale.

we're trying soccer again
Rhett is now playing soccer on Monday nights. I think this year is going to be much different than last year when he was just barely old enough to play. He has already shown some interest in the game...mainly the goalie position because he figured out they don't have to run as much as everyone else. He likes going to his little practices and his games should be starting in a couple of weeks. I'm sure I'll capture some edge of your seat action to share with you all. HA HA!

gator hunting
We went on a family adventure this afternoon to explore a state park South of us. We've been wanting to go for a while now to look for alligators. We wondered around the park just checking it out for future camping trips and when we walked out on one of the fishing piers we spied this little gator. There were some guys fishing off the pier and this gator was chasing their bait. It was really neat to get to see a real alligator up close like this. Although I am a little concerned about camping with the alligators roaming around all over the park. I guess that will be our next family adventure!

finally
WE ARE FINALLY PREGNANT!!!
Many of you know about our two and a half year journey through infertility so I won't go into too many details but we just feel so blessed that we can finally exit the roller coaster we've been on for too long now. We thank so many of you for your prayers, support and well wishes and ask that you continue to pray for our precious little one growing in my tummy.
Our due date is set for January 25 and we are counting down the days until Rhett gets to be a big brother. He is really getting excited about being a big brother and talks to my tummy already. He has already asked "How'd that baby get in your tummy" and "How are we getting that baby out". He has lists of things he wants to teach the baby and he and daddy are just convinced that it's a baby boy. I'm not ready to weigh in on that battle yet.
I asked Rhett the other day what he wanted to name our baby and he said, "We can't name it until we see what kind of human it is." He's just been too cute about it all.
I will definitely keep you posted throughout this pregnancy and will post ultrasound pictures after my next appointment, July 29. The pictures I have now are from week 6, 8 and 10 and I'd like to wait until I have one to post that looks a little more like a baby and less like a peanut.
Thanks again for all of your prayers and support! We feel blessed beyond measure!
julie's summer visit
Aunt Julie came to stay with us all week and to celebrate July 4th with us. I'm sorry for the lack of pictures but I was very lazy with my camera and had to steal these off of Julie's camera just to have any to blog. I'm really going to do better with taking pictures I promise. While Julie was here we were out and about a lot. We decided to go the splash park and ended up making a trip to the ER instead. Rhett was on the see-saw when some older kids jumped on and bucked him off of it. I ran to him as fast as I could and just when I grabbed him up the see-saw came up and sliced his little chin open. Blood went everywhere so I rushed him to his pediatrician's office to see if they thought he needed stitches and they said yes. So off we went ot the ER to get him all patched back up. They were able to glue it back together and now we just have to keep his hands off of it until the glue falls off. He was such a trooper and I was so thankful that Julie was with us during it all.
