merry anniversmas number 9
Today Jason and I celebrated nine wonderful years together. Laura and Brian were already in town to spend Christmas with us and so they joined us for an amazing steak dinner. It is so hard to believe that next year we will be hitting the big number ten but I look forward to every single day I get to spend with Jason. I'm still in awe of how perfectly God matched us when allowed our paths to cross. I am truly blessed with an amazing husband!

school Christmas program

Rhett has been telling me that he was going to sing all of the songs in his Christmas program backwards and I really wasn't sure what he meant until his teacher informed me that during practice he actually turns his back to the audience and sings "backwards". So after much bribery and the offer of getting into the treasure box after the program we actually got to see his face during the whole show. We were so proud that we survived the entire program without any incidences from our little class clown. (Well as long as we don't count the major nose picking in front of the entire audience..haha)

When we woke up this morning and checked the weather report it said there was a chance of snow in Houston and Rhett was so excited. All the way to school I talked to him about how it probably wouldn't really snow and if it did it might melt as fast as it comes, but Rhett was convinced it was going to snow. All day long there were reports of snow around Houston and when I picked up Rhett from school he was still waiting for the snow. Once we were home we kept watching out the window because the weather map showed that it was about to pass over us. As soon as we saw the first snowflake he quickly put on his shoes without socks and bolted out the door. I told him he needed to put socks on and on his way out he said, "Momma there's no time for socks." As soon as he got outside he started yelling, "It's Christmas Everyone!" He was very quickly joined by all of the kids on our block who were all running around in a frenzy trying to soak up every ounce of joy that comes with snow. It was one of the most fun and magical moments I've ever witnessed. I hope after you watch the videos you are reminded to slow down and enjoy the magic of this season just as I was.
As Rhett was running around in a tizzy he kept saying the funniest things like "You've got to be kidding me, It's snowing in Houston Texas!" Then he would yell out to everyone, "It's Christmas!"

church christmas spectacular
This weekend our church put on a Christmas festival. It was an elaborate production complete with fireworks, snow, a musical production, acrobats and was all wrapped up with the wonderful story of Jesus' birth. We had so much fun watching Rhett enjoy every second of it. Daddy and Rhett really enjoyed throwing snowballs at each other and of course we all especially enjoyed our turkey leg and funnel cake...yummy!!

I really wanted to have family pictures done of our little family before we became a foursome. Our photographer did a wonderful job and here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!
