March ended with a Homerun!

Surprise, I’m here! I know, pick your jaw up off the floor…two posts in two days is pretty stinking amazing. You can thank me later…haha!
More important than two posts in two days is that my big boy turned SEVEN…I repeat SEVEN!! This whole baby growing up thing just doesn’t get any easier does it? To celebrate his big day Rhett wanted an Astros party. Which actually turned out to be one of the easiest and best parties we’ve done for the boy. We really just had to show up and the Astros staff took care of the rest. All the boys LOVED it!IMG_7767 We got to tour the ballpark and sit in the dug-out.IMG_7677 IMG_7684IMG_7685 IMG_7688Sadly this is not the first two-year old tantrum thrown in this dug-out this season…ha! There’s always hope that next year will be better for our Stros! IMG_7680We were all entertained with a press conference from the Birthday boy!IMG_7646IMG_7655IMG_7724IMG_7728We finished the party off with pizza and cake in one of the suites…it was SWEET! (sorry I couldn’t resist…haha!)IMG_7732IMG_7757IMG_7807
Dear Astros, We forgive you for the poor season you’ve given us because of the unforgettable party you gave our son. However, Rhett will never forgive you for trading Lance Berkman and Hunter Pence.
Sincerely, Astros Fans for Life
When Rhett’s birthday actually arrived at the end of March we woke him up with special number seven pancakes on fire. IMG_7817IMG_7823Sleepy-head loved them when he finally woke up…haha! The little boys and I also brought lunch to the birthday boy at school.IMG_7824We finished the night and the month off with a big baseball win and presents after the game. His teammates very enthusiastically sang Happy Birthday to him following their win. IMG_7837 IMG_7847We LOVE you silly seven year old!

More of March

Yes, I am completely aware that it is not March. I’m even more aware of the sad fact that it is already August and I still haven’t finished March…ugh! It makes me sad to get so far behind blogging. I. Must. Catch. Up!  So here we go with the end of March.
My sisters and I always get together for spring break and this year we were joined by my parents as well. We decided to have Rhett’s SEVENTH birthday party during spring break so that his cousins could party with him. We started our spring break off with a trip out to the rodeo. The kids had a ball riding all the carnival rides and we finished the night off with Zac Brown Band at the rodeo.zbb1 zbb2Zac Brown Band put on one of the Best. Shows. EVER! This was Rhett’s first concert and he and his cousin K just sang their hearts out to every song.zbb3We all had such a great time at the rodeo and even managed to snap a sister picture while waiting in line to catch a bus out of the parking lot.zbb4 The next morning we got up and headed to the beach. Why yes my boys are swimming in their clothes…don’t judge…ha! They actually fit right in down in Galveston.beach1beach2 beach3It was still a little too cold to stay in the water for too long so we headed home before Wyatt’s diaper soaked up most of the ocean. I’ll be back tomorrow with Rhett’s super duper birthday bash to wrap up March! (or will I…bwahahaha)

Baseball and Rodeos: March Part One

March keeps us busy with two of our favorite American past times. Baseball and Rodeos! The two have actually become their own seasons around here that we gladly welcome when they arrive.  We started March off with opening day of baseball season for Rhett. This is always a super-fun family day. This year It. Was. COLD! We were NOT prepared for the surprise cold front that blew in during the festivities. Daddy had to run home and grab us all jackets to make it through the day and R’s exhibition game. It always melts my heart when R spots us in the crowd during the opening parade of teams.IMG_7342 IMG_7344 After the parade we got to enjoy the carnival, but it was seriously sooooo COLD that I’m not sure how much “enjoying” went on.IMG_7374 Oh and did I mention that daddy ran home and brought us all jackets…I’m sure you couldn’t tell from W’s perfectly fitted fare…ha!IMG_7368We weren’t able to actually go home and warm up until after R’s exhibition game. Insert action game shot here…..haha!IMG_7384  Why yes, it was that COLD…my poor slugger had to play with his jacket under his uniform…haha!
Welcome to our next favorite season…RODEO TIME!IMG_7580 As usual we made several trips out and this was our official 2011 boys on the bull picture. Click HERE to see the last couple of years bull picture. We made several trips out to HLSR as usual. We went with Aunt M and Uncle S and the boys little Boo Miss K.IMG_7521 Look at my sweet little future daughter-in-law, someone must really love her to send her such cute cowgirl clothes. IMG_7535The boys also had a super cowboyrific time taking in all the excitement that the rodeo provides.IMG_7549IMG_7541IMG_7528 Landon was happy to be along for the ride!IMG_7513My friend Mrs. R and I also braved the rodeo completely outnumbered by kids and we survived! W was so happy to get to go on a date with his little girlfriend. For two year olds the bus ride there is just as fun as the attractions!IMG_7447IMG_7443For the rest of the day these backside shots were all we were able to get from our two very excited two year olds. They just ran with joy from exhibit to exhibit.IMG_7469IMG_7467And once again Little L-man was just along for the ride!IMG_7452I’m hoping to finish up March this week be looking for more Rodeo, Spring break and big boy birthday fun!
